The Team

Whitney Lavender

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Whitney Lavender's journey is one of incredible resilience and inspiration. In 2017, after a severe fall down a staircase, she suffered nerve damage leading to the diagnosis of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Despite the challenges this rare condition presented, Whitney faced her first amputation in April 2020. Remarkably, she adapted to life with a prosthetic limb and was back to an active lifestyle within four months.

In January 2021, Whitney was crowned MS Wheelchair Texas, USA, recognized for her advocacy through the "Different is Beautiful" platform. She met with Texas Governor Greg Abbott and went on to compete in the MS Wheelchair USA pageant in Ohio, where she didn't win the crown but was honored with the Mona Johansen Spirit Award and the Best Exhibit Award.

The progression of CRPS necessitated another amputation in September 2022, leading to a tough year of mental health struggles and physical adaptation. However, 2024 marked a significant turnaround as Whitney embarked on a fitness journey, shedding over 90 pounds and beginning to train in Jiu-Jitsu. Her experiences have fueled her passion for helping others, inspiring people from all walks of life to embrace fitness and adapt to changes in their lives.

Whitney is also an author, with her first children's book slated for publication in Spring 2025. Her commitment to aiding others in similar situations led to the founding of AdaptAbility Home Services in 2025, alongside Jamie Grant in Memphis, TN, aimed at easing the transition to adaptive living.

Through her story, Whitney continues to advocate that difference is indeed beautiful, transforming her personal challenges into a beacon of hope and change.
